HOW TO PROVIDE DOWNLOAD AND OTHER LINKS
TO YOUR HOMEPAGES
The files contained in this archive (originally named HOW2LINK.ZIP),
consists of a sample page from our web site, entitled "HOW2LINK.HTM,"
together with all supporting graphics files.
The sample HTML page is primarily intended to demonstrate:
o How to link to third party Web pages to your Web site
o How to allow users to download ZIP archives located on
your Web site
o How to allow users to download files from a third party site,
via direct links to same incorporated into your Web pages
o How to link graphics, located on third part sites, to
your Web page
o How to create hyperlink graphics, located on your Web pages,
to files located on your Web site or a third party site
The actual page provides detailed instructions and sample code.
In addition, close examination of the HTML source will provide insight
into using several advanced HTML formating techniques that could also
be of use to many new Web publishers.
To view the Web page in your Web browser, simply copy all files
to a single directory on your hard drive, and open the file named
"HOW2LINK.HTM." If you go online, all hyperlinks incorporated
in the page should be functional.
Hope this is of help to you. Should you have any comments or
suggestions, please feel free to contact me via CompuServe mail
at 70771,1336, AOL mail at flashptdev, or via the internet at either
70771.1336@compuserve.com or flashptdev@aol.com.
